This week, we will be continuing our mystery unit, and continuing to look at close reading. The VFW sponsors an annual Patriot’s Pen essay contest, and our students will be writing about why we appreciate our veterans. I attached the graphic organizer we will be using on Thursday to help your student start writing if you’d like to continue that conversation at home. The ELA teachers and Social Studies teachers are working jointly on this project, and students will finish writing and printing in their Social Studies classes. We will then choose some student essays for the contest!
PR book projects/talks due. We are extending this by a day to give all students in-class
time to do a book talk if they are prepared.
If your child wishes to write the 1 page written book project, the sheet is attached and also available in class. It is gold, and due no later than October 7.
