Welcome to the third quarter! We are finished reading Homeless Bird, and this week, we will be starting our informative essays , focusing on formal writing and credible sources.
Due Dates:
Friday:
RDW #1—Compare and contrast your life with Koly’s. Use and highlight transitions.
RDW #2-- Using formal writing, describe the qualities of reputable websites. Highlight many transitions. (I’ve attached a copy of the formal writing notes to this e-mail J).
RDW #3—Summarize the article you chose using a third person point of view. Highlight transitions. (Students will be beginning this on Thursday in class).
January 30:
-Pies and Presidents scholarship essays due (this is an essay by choice, not an ELA assignment)
-Scholastic book orders due
February 13:
-1st Book Talks Due
I’ve also attached a reminder sheet of the most common assignments to the email. The students all received one in class on Monday.
