Dear Parents,
We have finished our novel, and this week we will be moving into our poetry unit. Because MStep testing also begins this week, our daily schedule will be affected. It is possible that students will miss some class time; so in order to stay caught up, students must check the class poetry site, www.gmsela7poetry.weebly.com, where all of the class materials and RDWs will be posted. The media center is also open in the morning for students who need to use the computers.
RDWs this week:
RDW #1: What impact does figurative language have on poetry? Write about the impact similes and metaphors have on any OR all of the following poems: "Hope is the Thing With Feathers", "Forgetfulness", and "Harlem". (Cite and highlight text evidence from any or all of the poems.)
RDW #2: Free write--choose any topic (school appropriate) to write about. This can be any genre, formal or informal--anything your heart desires :).
Dates:
Monday – Mstep testing begins
Thursday – Book projects due
Friday – RDWs due
Have a great week!
